Biography
Chakira Johnson has been a resident of Stone Mountain Village since 2003, when she purchased her home in the Mountain Village Subdivision.
She became active in serving her SMV community in 2006 with an appointment to the newly inducted Stone Mountain Downtown Development Authority. Ms. Johnson then began serving her community as a member of the Stone Mountain City Council in 2008. Ms. Johnson is currently the Mayor Pro Tem for the City, Vice Chair of the DDA, board member of the Stone Mountain Historical Society, and Manager of the Stone Mountain Community Garden.

By day she is a professional Civil Engineer, with a Bachelor's degree from Georgia Tech and holds an engineering license in 3 states. She obtained her Master's degree in International Relations from Troy University.

In her personal time she spends quality time with her parents, CJ and Harold Johnson, and spoils her rescue pup, Max.
